MoviePro for FiLMiC Pro users
If you shoot with FiLMiC Pro, much of MoviePro will feel familiar: ProRes, manual control, exposure tools and a built-in remote. Here is what MoviePro is built around, and what to know when you switch.
Six things you'll use every day.
MoviePro is arranged around how you're shooting: Auto Mode, Pro Mode and Dual Capture are separate scenes you switch between from the scene badge, and Remote Control is in the same app.
Dual Capture
Two cameras at once from one iPhone, for interviewer and guest, presenter and subject, or wide and tight. Record PiP, Split or Two Files, or use Switch to cut between the two live cameras during the take.
Take Receipt
After every take, MoviePro confirms the file was saved and reports audio, exposure, format, frame drops and slate. If the camera can't deliver the exact format you asked for, MoviePro says on screen what it is recording instead.
Auto Mode
A scene for run-and-gun work such as events, street and news. Exposure and focus follow the shot, with AF and AE locks a tap away, while shutter angle, microphone and gain, codec and stabilization stay your choice.
Pro Mode
Rails for ISO, shutter, white balance and focus. Repeatable A/B focus pulls and zoom moves timed from 0.5 to 3 seconds. Presets that bring back the whole setup, including exposure priority and ƒ on iPhone 18 Pro.
Remote Control
Choose Source on the filming iPhone and Control on another iPhone, an iPad or an Apple-silicon Mac. It finds the camera on your Wi-Fi or Personal Hotspot, with no account, and shows its battery, storage and thermal warnings.
Audio you can check
The microphone icon beside the meters changes with the input actually in use: built-in, wired or USB, or Bluetooth. Gain when the input supports it, headphone monitoring, and a warning when no microphone is available.

What to know in MoviePro.
- Recording is free in MoviePro, in Auto Mode, Pro Mode and Dual Capture; Remote Control is the paid feature. FiLMiC Pro, on the other hand, offers weekly and yearly subscriptions (as of 2 October 2026).
- MoviePro is updated regularly: MoviePro 10 has had four updates since it launched in August 2026, the latest on 30 September.
- MoviePro records Apple Log and Apple Log 2, Apple's own Log curves. Grade them with Apple Log color management, not with settings made for FiLMiC Log. How Log works in MoviePro →
- For a monitoring look on Log, use the built-in Rec.709 or Rec.2100 HDR view, then apply your own LUTs in the edit.
- Two-camera recording is a scene in MoviePro: switch to Dual Capture from the scene badge. FiLMiC offers it in a separate app, DoubleTake (last updated 10 March 2025).
- Remote Control is built in, and the controller can be an iPhone, an iPad or an Apple-silicon Mac.
- Choose codec, color mode, resolution and frame rate in Settings › Video Format, in that order; each choice can narrow the next.
