FIG 10.1The audio controls, shown with headphones connected. Numbers match the list below.
ControlWhat it shows or does
1Input and formatThe microphone being recorded, by its system name, such as IPHONE MIC or SHURE MV88; below it, the sample rate and audio format, such as 48K • AAC. The format reads AAC, 24-BIT, LPCM or 32F.
2MONHeadphone monitoring. It appears only while headphones are connected; tap it to turn listening on (green). It starts off each time MoviePro opens.
3MetersLeft and right level from −60 to 0 dBFS, with a white line holding each recent peak.
4Gain buttonOpens and closes the gain fader (6). Its icon shows the input type: microphone (built-in), plug (USB, wired or line) or Bluetooth.
5PKThe highest recent level; it holds for a second, then falls back.
6Gain faderInput gain on MoviePro's scale of −12 to +24. It reads — and does not move when the input does not allow gain; use the microphone's own control then.

Choose the microphone#

You connectMoviePro records
NothingThe built-in microphone set in Settings › Audio › Microphone: Auto, Bottom, Front (Top) or Back.
A USB, Lightning or wired microphoneThe connected microphone: iOS normally routes to the microphone connected last. The built-in choice in Settings does not apply while it is connected.
A Bluetooth headsetIts microphone only with Settings › Audio › Bluetooth Mic turned on. With it off, Bluetooth is used for listening and the built-in microphone records. Turning it on also stops other apps' audio from mixing in.
Microphone set to NoneNo audio, whatever is connected.

Check the input name (1) in the audio controls before a take. On iPhone there is no control for choosing between two connected microphones: disconnect the one you do not want, or turn Bluetooth Mic off. A preset that saved an input applies it when that input is connected.

On iPad

The meter beside the PRO badge shows the source as MIC, USB, LINE, HSET or BT; tap it to open the same audio controls, and tap it again to close them. Recording does not close them on iPad.
