Recording-mode limits#

Long-Record Mode, frame rates above 60 fps and ProRes RAW bypass MoviePro's live image processing, so some features do not apply. All three are set in Settings › Video Format. Not all settings apply to Dual Capture mode.

Prepare for a long take#

Before the take

  1. Choose the final camera, format, and save destination.
  2. Check free space and the estimated remaining time. Leave room beyond the planned duration.
  3. Connect power and secure the microphone and storage cables.
  4. Check Record Duration so an unintended limit will not stop the take.
  5. Make and play a test recording using the same setup.
  6. Start the main take and monitor audio, storage, and temperature warnings.

Use Long-Record Mode

Open Settings › Video Format › Long-Record Mode. It records straight from the camera so long takes run cooler, and it changes what can be recorded: Recording-mode limits.

Long-Record Mode does not write MoviePro's added timecode track or bake the selected Log View conversion.

For long ProRes takes on iOS 27, Pro Video Storage reserves space in advance: Choose a save destination

Respond to heat or low storage

If a warning persists, end the take safely when practical. Free space, allow the device to cool, or choose a less demanding format before the next take. Check the saved file for reported issues.
